Ingredients

For the fruit scones

  • 500g/1lb 2oz plain flour, plus extra for dusting
  • 150g/5½oz unsalted butter
  • 60g/2¼oz caster sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 25g/1oz baking powder
  • 250ml/9fl oz full-fat milk
  • ½ apple, peeled and grated
  • 30g/1oz raisins, soaked in warm water
  • 1 free-range eggs yolk, beaten

To serve

  • clotted cream
  • strawberry jam
